Sunday...
It was a nice dream come to life, if only for a couple of weeks...full of belly laughs, tickles, morning kisses, foot rubs on the couch, full-body massages... It was nice to get back into that comfortable routine for a few days...to actually sleep at night knowing that all is well in the world...that you're safe and warm...in the arms of the man you love... To wake up in the middle of the night to find him sleeping beside you...and cuddle closer to make sure that it's real...to actually have a hand to hold while taking a drive in the car... To share Cadence with and the joys and wonder of parenthood...bath times and crayons...good night kisses...bed time rituals..."I love you's"... It was nice to wake up in the morning...scoop Cadence up...and play with her in bed...the three of us...one small, yet very happy family... I love what we have become...I love "us"...and the last couple of weeks only reminds me of the promise of what is yet to come... In the meantime, it's time to go back to a cold, lonely, reality...it's time to wake up...
